1st day at Electronics

       

      Before an emergency we should:

Term 2 Highlights

                           Highlights of this Term

- Getting to sit next to Olivia at the end of the term for 2 weeks.

- I liked having Mrs Lovatt for a week because she was fun.

- Doing my Elective, I can’t wait until next term.

- I liked doing the human machine project.

McDonald's Persuasion

I disagree with this statement ‘McDonald’s is harmful’ because you're not forced to eat it and if you have learned about healthy eating before, you should know not to eat it often.

Main Point: Children and Adults know how to eat healthy.

Explain: In Schools children have been taught to eat healthy so that means they know not to eat fast foods and takeaways often, such as McDonald’s.

                                    

Example: A survey that was taken ‘how often do you eat healthy’ these are the answers:

• 26% said all the time.
• 35% said most of the time.
• 24% said sometimes.
• 10% said once in awhile.
• 5% said never

Main Point: You are not forced to eat McDonald’s.

Explain: Nobody would force you to eat McDonalds, so why would you always be eating it?

Example: Adult and Children can make their own choices so if they want to eat healthy they can. Nobody can force you to eat it.

Main Point: Litter / Rubbish

Explain: There are heaps of people who aren’t responsible for their litter and just throw it on the ground if you look around in public you will find lots of rubbish from McDonald’s.

Example: When you are going for a walk how many bits of litter do you see from McDonald’s? Lots and lots and lots.

My Holiday Recount

Holiday Recount

It was squishy in the car. Really squishy. All the bags and pillows and blankets were around me and it was making me so hot. When we turned into my cousin’s driveway I sighed, I was so tired and hungry and I just wanted to get out and see them. As soon as the car stopped I jumped out ran up the stairs and my cousins were there waiting for us, waiting for me.  

They gave us big hugs and told us to come inside so we could have some afternoon tea. I was so excited when I saw my Granny walk in the door with a big suitcase “Hello” she said “ I love your top” she said giving me a hug “ Thanks” I said, “Are you wearing that to the party?”   “um, no” I said  “ Hurry Up then go and get changed then.”

We were at Aunty Cerise’s Party, all of us. It was for her birthday and her anniversary “ so she got married on her birthday?” Caitlin asked me “ yeah I guess”

I said. When it was dinner lots of speeches were said. There were lots of people who I didn’t know. I was cold and I wanted to go home I watched a dvd inside then I got bored so I spied on everyone who was in the kitchen I stood up on the tiny thin, brown ledge and watched them I listened to what they said but then Alice (my cousin)

Saw me she told me I was going home “what about you?”  “ I get to stay longer” “oh!” I said.

I couldn’t get to sleep at my cousin's house I was on their inflatable mattress and it was really uncomfortable I twisted and turned but I must of fell  asleep because when I woke up everyone was packing up not long after I got dressed dad said “ Right we’re off” We gave them big hugs. It was squishy in the car. Really squishy…

I am sitting here right now thinking, thinking about today. The strike and Don dying I was very shocked when this happened and I will never forget it, But the most interesting thing what happened today is that I found out my best mate Don Curry, was a scab. I am not disappointed that he was a scab I am disappointed that he lied to me. He said “I need yer to forgive me Billy. Can yer do that?”  After a while, I took his hand in mine “You’re all right, Don. We ended up on the same side in the end.”  And that’s when he died.

I don’t like the war. I think that it is silly that countries fight with each other and kill each other, I think that one country should just say ‘ Why don’t we just forget about this.’

    A  Soldier’s Tale   

I am standing there coughing so much I cannot stand straight. The group trying to stand up was so hard especially in the mud.

As I try to go to safety, bullets and shells land behind me I march as fast as I can trying not to trip over or get hit.

Many of the group have lots their boots some with bad cuts on their feet. They appear to be deaf not even hearing the gas shells that fall behind them because of their tiredness and sickness. The lot of them are drunk looking, They can’t see where they are marching or think properly, We all just need a good rest.

Here I am shouting and screaming my heart racing, calling to all the others warning them about the poisonous gas before they lose their lives and die.

Even though I am so exhausted, I speedly put on my awkward gas mask from the kit we all have. Unfortunately one of our men was too slow stumbly around as the gas fills up his lungs.  

The gas is so thick now it is so hard to see even one of my mates, it is a greenish colour that feels like it will make the whole world all cloudy and ghastly.

I will never forget my conrad come rushing towards me coughing terribly, knowing he is going to die. I don’t know what to say at all, there is a big tight knot in my stomach.

There he is. My best mate lying on a wagon dead. I feel terrible, to sad to think about anything but him. What would you do if you were here seeing all this what I am seeing? He had brown hair and bright blue eyes he had a kind heart and always smiled at me whenever I looked at him even when we were going through rough times.

What are you hearing as the man is dying? It is so hard I am having no fun I am never having fun I don’t like this dying for your country.
